I never thought this Burlington box car was cool at all until I got the nicely painted version. The one is either molded in a flat color or painted that way. The other is a glossy green that looks really nice. I notice that lettering is a bit different too. But I'm not one of those who has to have or worries about ever little variance in these pieces...

I went to a garage sale today and found a box with some old Bachman freight cars in it for $5. They definitely had that dirty barn find look to them, but with some deep cleaning, I managed to get one turned into this beautiful Bachmann Swift reefer (left). I didn't have the trucks for it, so I took a Tyco Reefer frame, snipped the tabs off. I had a set of Mehano trucks and slipped them on, and now this is probably my favorite Bachmann freight car as of now. I reactivated my Tyco Swift Reefer from storage. I like the looks of the pair.

Very nice! I have one as well. Put metal wheels and body mounted kadees on it.
