My COTW offering is the Tyco Sound of Steam 50' box car, which I got in excellent condition for 15 bucks, shipped. Unfortunately I don't have any 9-volt batteries to test it yet, however, to my understanding, the battery powers a speaker system which is all hidden inside the box car, and there are gears attached to one of the trucks, which of course spin along with the wheels as the box car moves down the tracks, and somehow synchronizes the sound system with the speed of the steam locomotive. I really can't wait to test this out, as I've seen at least 1 YouTube video of it in action and it works great.

Those C.C.'s really stood out.
Steam car looks complete, and at $15 that's great. Maybe a touch of lube on that gear. Operates a cam that triggers a spark that activates the speaker. Really great stuff!

The Tyco Guernsey Cow carbash, complete with udders.
Decals to follow, as soon as I can think of something to put on it.

El Rojo has the mojo! I used to work summers on dairy farms, so this piece was a real teat, ahem, I mean treat, to see. Can't wait to see what it will look like painted up.
This week, I pulled a nice old Tootsie Roll out of the box.
Windows 10 decided to post this photo of a Tyco IC caboose, on my behalf. Gotta love this upgrade (not).
Anyhows, nice caboose, but I have no particular attachment to the State of Illinois, much less the the former President, bobbing around Hawaii on his surf board while his wife is buying car loads of shoes. I wonder if he has a Coast Guard cutter positioned close by to ward of hungry Mako sharks?
I digress. Anyone want to trade something for the IC caboose?

The first piece of Blaxland rolling stock, a reefer repainted from an old Mantua Kahn's. I replaced some broken stirrups and added some separate grabs, new trucks, metal wheels, kadees. Lettered like a proper short line. Simply!
That was my last junk freight car. Selling the other junkers on the bay. Perhaps I'll do a Tyco plugger if I ever get one.

I'll sneak this late submission in. Here's a caboose I found at the LHS today. Going by the riveted coupler pockets I'm almost positive this is a late RedBox Tyco offering. The graphics are crisp, though a little dusty.

Yep! B for Blax L for land R for ridge, and the "X" identifies the line as a shortline or private road.

X on the end of a reporting mark means an owner without home rails. For example, an electric company might own a fleet of coal hoppers - CWEX = Commonwealth Edison (CWE) and X for not a railroad company. Or, there are leasing companies like General American Tankcar (GATX).
Interestingly, CSX Transportation is CSXT because it is a railroad, so the reporting marks do not end in X.

BLRX sounds like "BLARX," abbreviated, the sound one makes when throwing back a cold drink and finding a live water bug in the bottom of the glass.
