Finally getting around to installing line side fencing in Henley. At least in the early years of
British rail, locomotives did not have head lamps, thus to keep live stock off the track,
a great deal of trouble was expended erecting fencing along every mile of railroad track.
That's the story, which doesn't make a lot of sense in itself as a lamp would be a lot
cheaper than than billions of yard of lumber in a country without much forest.

I think rather it was just to keep live stock from being turned into hamburger and
minced mutton. Early lamps on trains could not have been very effective for much,
anyways.

Looks nice! I have some fencing that I'll be using on my sets as well.

Oh I will still be using the rocks, the fencing is just an extra prop I will use. I dont exactly remember where I got the idea for the rocks but I like it!

Railroaders said that the early kerosene headlights provided just enough light so you could see what you hit.

Pretty much finished grassing Henley. Needs a little touch up, and
some bushes, hedges, and a few flowers.

line side fencing or the invention of the barbed wire is what caused the cowcatcher on USA locos to shrink to a decoration
