How do I upload my own avatar? I am trying to upload one, but it keeps giving me an error 404 message

I received the same error recently upon trying to change mine. Not sure what is going on.
By the way, I have uploaded my own avatars in the past without such a 404 error......

I am guessing here, only, is the avatar you are
trying to upload, is it reduced in pixelization to
1000 or less across? Do you inadvertently have
any symbols like < or % or _ or . in the
label? It just takes one odd symbol or underscore
to have it kicked back.

My dudes, I resized the image to 96x96, and it still gives me this same error screen! !@$%#!!$$@!
I have tried on mobile and on my laptop. Same thing!
I am using chrome, could that be the issue?

I just uploaded an avatar picture using Chrome and got no 404 or any other error.
The 404 just means it couldn't find the page. That should only happen if the site is down, but as you tried it several times, it shouldn't have been down each time. The error screen appears to say that tycoforums.com is the page it couldn't find, but I type that into the URL line in Chrome, and it goes right there.
This is a bit of a stumper.

I trust you guys, I could give one of you my password and the 96x96 image to change it
The other strange thing is that if I type "tycoforums.com" it gives me a 404. If I search "tyco trains forums" and then use the link to get to the forums, it works. The weird thing is that the name "tycoforums.com" is the same. Its like there was a past version of the site that it attempts to redirect me to.

this is what i do,i go to profile,scroll down to avatar section,click on add your own avatar,a small box appears in left hand side of the screen,asking you to browse for your photo and to give it a name,then upload,then click on my avatars list find the name you gave it,and away you go,long winded but works for me

| Thats what ive been trying to do ken. I upload the avatar, give it a name, it uploads for a bit, then gives me a 404.
