When not cutting up my fingers on the E 60 project, my other layout is
British OO, where I have some fun with legends (Loch Ness) and
historical sites, castles, etc.

In reading history, it becomes quite apparent that Britain was not
simply an outpost of ancient Rome, but rather lock-stock-and-barrel
Italian province from about 46 years AD to about AD 400. It lasted
a goodly long time, and the English landscape is littered with Roman
coins, foundations, roads, even worn out Roman sandals in one spot.
A lot of Roman era mosaics turn up all over England, usually from the
houses of the wealthy or government halls.

So I'm working on doing a Roman mosaic excavation on my British layout
of this one. She is a Goddess of the Sea, little else I know, I though that
was Neptune's department, but oh well, that's what the caption said.

I rather like her worried expression, for one. So I printed out a color copy of her
and shrank it down to a small square, we'll see how it goes. Easier than the E 60
I think...

This is the last video I did, but have not added the mosaic just yet, which will be cause
for a new improved video.

Sounds like an awesome project, Chops! I really admire what you did with the Sutton Hoo Viking Ship Excavation Site...it looks so realistic.

*** Jeff, Good luck with the Roman stuff. They always had columns with statues on top. They were gods, people or soldiers. Sometimes very high on lining a entrance way to a important house. And then the victory arches.

Chops,

That is superb! Is the worried looking female from the villa at Brading on the Isle of Wight? if so, I have been there and seen that. There is another amazing one at Fishbourne just along the Sussex coast...

Nicely done!

Terribly nice of you, James. Truth be told I’ve only
Recently begun to appreciate the depth of the
Roman occupation of Britain. As such, my modeling
Here is somewhat random in nature.

As far as I know, she is a sea goddess, and the
Annoyed man is a governor of some province
