Some years ago, a guy on the Interweb was offering replacement Chrome fittings for Tyco Peterbilts.

I bought some and have been fitting them as I acquire the odd one with a broken exhaust pipe, however I didn't throw the broken bits away....which has turned out to be handy.

The other day I aquired a really nice Kenworth which had no side tanks or exhausts, but it has now! Made out of the broken bits from Peterbilts! OK it is not right, but as the old saying goes half a loaf is better than no bread.



Of course, when it is running and pulling a trailer, will anyone notice?

Interesting cabover. I trained on one of those many moons ago.
It had a two stroke V8, which gave it a rather interesting
characteristic- most notably a poor torque, requiring
a bunch of gears to get up to speed, as I recall. The engine,
was covered with a giant shell that swallowed up much
of the cab, but was surprisingly quiet given its proximity.
A very interesting piece of a bygone (thank God)
tractor. Also got about 5 MPG, or 2.1 KM to the
liter, smoked like bloody 'ell.

Never quite sure what advantage the 2 stroke had
over a 4 stroke of the same vintage. Maybe that
it had only ports, and no moving valves made
maintenance easier? It was a challenge to drive.

yep its very nice
but I want a REAL one someday & remotor it with a better & bigger engine
Plus bigger tanks Like the ones they use on the TV show Ice Road Truckers
