My regular DD is a '97 Corolla, but my AMC comes out with some frequency. The Corolla was that awful beige colour every car in the 90s was, but luckily I was able to fix it.

I mostly drive my Chevy HHR, but I take out my AMC Hornet wagon on occasion. It needs a new carburetor, it's leaking I think internally. but it still starts up and runs OK for now.

With alotta bells & whistles but 2
Sliding window & a keyless entry 
yes I got A/C as well
I average about 20-25 mpg

My daily drive is a 2011 Jeep Patriot.
It's a nice car, in many ways, but after only 127,000 miles, it needed new struts on the front. I wonder why.

I rather regret letting my '66 Valiant go. But it wasn't so much fun
when the brake system leaked; no cross piping, so when it blew
she really blew. I yanked back on the emergency brake only to
have it come out in my hand, dangling rusted cable.
I eventually upgraded to a '79 Mirada. Lovely car, road like a giant
marshmallow. Only problem was having to shove it off the road
every time she stalled out, which was often. They say what
doesn't kill you just leaves you damaged.

DaCheez!!! Love the Toyota! I had a similar Ford Escort in you younger days.
My Daily driver:
This 2012 Toyota Camry was one of two Toyotas given away during the 2012 Super Bowl. It was won by a semi-local couple in Indiana PA. They won two cars that day. The wife kept hers, but a year later in 2013, the husband traded his in for a new pick-up truck. It is fully loaded with every option available and even has the V6, two-tine leather seats, and dual exhaust (well at least partially). It was originally listed somewhere close to $40K new, but a year later and with 12K miles on her, they were asking for $22K. The cold and snowy January day we stopped in to look, it was sitting in their garage. It had just been traded in the day before and had not gone through their inspection yet. I purchased it on the spot. I was in a boot from having just had surgery, so I did not even drive it for another week or so after purchasing it.
Once I get the engine back in, it will be my good weather "daily driver":

Thanks Sean! I liked the Corolla, but the beige was killing me (not to mention the rust bubbles). Every so often I see other $50 paint projects rolling around town and always get a kick out of them.
That Camry should last you a while and the Mustang is looking really good! Hopefully you get to drive it soon.

For the summer I drive a 1987 Monte Carlo is the weather is good. Otherwise I have a Mazda 5 minivan and a Colorado Z71 4x4. Basically a tuff working vehicle, a family hauler and a fun car.

My dear friend, who prefers to go under the anonymous nom de plume of
"Crusty," drives this on a daily basis. I might add, that while rail accidents
make good headlines, this company, and many, many others like it are
obsessed with safety at much the same, or even higher level, of that of
airlines. This is his daily driver, and he keeps both eyes wide open.

This thread hasn't been opened in a while but just wanted to show what kind of crazy finds there are on Ebay. I have had my 79 Bandit Trans Am stored in my garage for several years with hardly a second look.. Early January, I went out and uncovered the car and gave it a close inspection. Sadly, Upon close inspection, I find my driver side door has a rust hole toward the rear lower corner. I keep this car rust free and in beautiful condition. Closer look shows this door is soft on the bottom too. Typical Ohio door. To find a solid door will be impossible. I get on ebay and was in disbelief that a pair of NOS, GM doors had just been listed for $850.00... They were 200 miles away in PA , so I wrote the seller and made the deal to pick them up on the weekend. 40 year old doors solid as the day they were stamped... Still can't believe this find...

2 weeks ago today, my Dad and I headed up the street to Mancini Motors - in truth, the highest-rated used car dealership in Montgomery County, PA - and I walked off the lot with my first car, a 2009 Ford Focus!!! This car is in great used condition, and with only about 68,500 miles on it, I'm confident it will serve me well for a long, long time!
This car will become my daily driver in the near future, just as soon as I get my driver's license in June - since I only have my permit at this point. I consider myself truly blessed to have been able to work hard and obtain my first car at 17!

as good as your last mile, and keep a bubble of space
in front, in back, and to the sides, as much as safely
possible. Assume that every driver out there is
smoking crack, talking on a cell phone, and
generally unaware of your existence, and you'll
probably be OK. That is not meant to be funny,

Yes, while only a permit-holder at this time, I have put in over 65 hours of behind-the-wheel training on the family car, and can certainly say that mastering the basics of "spacing" when driving is crucial. I've also been told by my parents that it is important to have "eyes behind your head" when driving, or AKA always watch the road, and everything and everyone on it.

If you haven't noticed already, it is truly amazing
how distracted so many motorists are. I used
to drive a bus, and a semi, back in the day, and
you really get jumpy after a while. Lately, I've been
watching too many videos on Youtube about bad
driving, but they are enormously instructional.
I'm sure you'll be fine- it's just the rest of the
driving world out there is breathtaking in its
bad habits and bad manners. Enjoy your new ride!

Yes....even as a new driver...I've seen many who unfortunately do not drive properly/respectfully, and it has taught me a lot. Interestingly enough, Chops, for the past couple months, I've been watching "World's Worst Drivers" videos on YouTube, and they've taught me to not only drive even-more safely, but also to drive defensively.

Another little thing about driving, is that statistically most
accidents happen close to home, because that is when
we start to let our guard down and think about the next
thing we have to do when we get there.
A few miles from the home terminal, I clipped
a frozen snow bank after drifting across two
lanes while fiddling with the radio. It was a
full semi, with no power steering, and I
had to hang on for dear life until it ran
out of momentum. Scared the heck out of
me. Made a nice trough in the snow bank,
but otherwise I got real lucky.
Black ice is another special thrill mother nature
likes to pull on us. And fog. Fog is a wonderful
way to get wrecked in a jiff.

True...I've felt that, except I've never become not-careful when driving near home, I've just felt more confident with knowing the roads and such.
Thank God you were okay, as that sounds like quite an unpleasant accident...:(
Yes, both black ice and fog are extremely dangerous driving conditions, and while having a bit of experience driving in light fog as a permit holder, I've never had to deal with black ice. Obviously, in snowy/icy conditions, drivers should slow their speeds 10-20 mph based on the conditions, which would limit the possibility of losing control when hitting a black ice patch.

Just wanted to update all on my car - about 2-3 months ago I found a great deal on a new pre-painted spoiler on Ebay, so I purchased it and my Dad helped me to install it. More recently, I paid a local shop to refinish both the front and rear bumpers, as well as replace all the worn plastic trim and scratched windows on the driver's side (from previous owner.) Upon driving it back home, I installed brand-new headlight & taillight assemblies with new bulbs, and a chrome exhaust tip. I'm finally "satisfied" with my daily driver - my only priority now is continuing to drive safe of course.

Very Nice, RP... The best decision I ever made was to got to a vocational school and learn to do auto body repair and painting... I absolutely love the stuff! I use the PPG paints and the House Of Kolor paints on custom projects... I don't believe there is any other way that I could make $48 an hour so easily as doing an insurance job. I donate a lot of free work on friends and family cars...

My daily drive is a 2007 Navy blue Dodge Caliber RT. I dunno about you guys, but I kinda like it. It's been pretty good to me since I got it back in 2015.In fact, I've literally traveled across the country in it about 2 and a half years ago with a bunch of my family's belongings shoved into the car (a 3000 mile trip!) and she's still chugging along as good as she was when I first drove it.

Exactly what happened to me this past August. A quarter mile from my house. I was very lucky to walk away from this one.
But, she's been replaced with something better. This one is fully loaded, power everything. She'll get new headlights and tail lights, and switched over to LEDs. Just got back from a 350 mile round trip without trouble.

I don't think I have ever posted my old heap on here. I have had this car since August of 1984... Lots of fun over the years. Looks exactly like it was when produced by GM down to every stripe and decal. In 1993, I neatly installed a 1970 454 big block Chevy bored 060 onto the original 4 speed. It is now in the beginning of it's final restoring (I believe the 5th) as I want it to enjoy a little with my teen daughter, along with leaving it to her in my will.

4 stroke in the manner of First Gen Harley Repop. Gets about
100 MPG, will cruise 30 to 33 MPH. Lot of fun, but it has nasty
tendency to vibrate parts, like wheels and stuff, off.
When not terrorizing El Paso with this, I cruise about on an electric bike.

My daily driver. A 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. V8 naturally! Just put on some new wheels a couple weeks back. Truck looks totally different now. Love it! Has a spray in bed liner and lots of nice features. My third GM truck and my first GMC.

This, in the style of 1908 motorcyles. It goes up to 30 MPH and will go at least
fifty miles on a liter of gasoline. It vibrated off the rear fender, so its in the shop,
otherwise I ride whenever the weather allows. I'd rather be riding this hoopty
than an automobile any day of the week. Of course, I run the gauntlet with
distracted motorists.
I drove it over the 7,000 foot Mt. Apache in Riodoso, NM with no trouble at all.
This is my latest project, a barn find 1965 Ranchero. It is mechanically sound,
actually runs good, but needs a lot of body work and an interior. By this summer
I hope to have it as a daily driver.
