I used a copy of the Huff n Puff plans from my flat car to put together their gondola and coke
car kits. They all use the same basic frame and floor and different bodies.

This is the kit for the Gondola

Materials:

stripwood basswood, Hobby Lobby
scribed wood Northwest Lumber
queen posts Grandtline
truss rod ends Grandtline
trucks Tichey Train Group
bolsters made from my molds

Thanks all. Just tired of not being able to get parts because the manufacturer is no
longer in business. And the fact that I had a blast making the molds and the parts.

I was about to link you the page for Ye Olde Huff N Puff, but it seems their website has gained

"*** BUSINESS IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ***"

in big lettering on the front page. This doesn't bode well!

You wouldn't download a car!

(Might do something like this once I get to Ace Hardware for more stripwood, but I don't know where to get plans.)

Very nice George. I'm looking forward to seeing all this equipment running on your layout through the village of old time buildings you've been assembling.

You can get the plans from Hoseeker. They have copies of the instructions for a lot of the kits
there. Those are usually the plans as well as the instructions.

Well, I finally got to finish up with this project. I got to figuring that since they all use the
same frame/floor, why not make a mold of it and just make a complete one out of resin.
That would save a lot of time and material, so here is the results...

This is the mold of the underside of the frame.

This is the top part of the mold for the frame.

The floor of the car (used for flat cars, gondolas and other open cars.

Castings from molds.

Finished product.

Original wood base.

Cast base.

Original model.

Model using cast base.

Overall, I think this project worked out just fine. It saves time and materials and still looks
good. I will probably use these bases for other models I have planned.

Buss, as far as I know, all you would need to do is put HOn3 trucks under it. It is made so that
you can use whatever trucks you want, you just have to drill the right sized hole for the screw.

Thanks guys. I used the Alumilite silicon mold material and their resin. The silicon does pick up
EVERY little detail that is on the master, even the mistakes are truthfully replicated.
