Well my son Steve was over yesterday and show me his 0-6-0 camelback, that is done now. The body is scratch built and fits a Bachmann drive. The tender has been kitbashed.

Frank, what is the "ring" that is attached to the top of the stack?

responce by morerator.
It is a screen that once flipped to cover the stack outlet keeps burning embers from starting fires along the right of way while allowing the smoke to pass freely through.

I would venture it is a spark arrester, but in the open position and without a screen yet.

Thanks, everybody. I am just sharing Steve's work with you. Steve asked me if I had a fine mesh to use for the spark arrestor. I have nothing. Sean that newer Bachman drives come well weighted. Thanks for all the nice things you all have said. I will pass them on. well, my computer is down now. I am on my wife's laptop. The geek squad is coming Thursday. I'll try to get back again before then.

That it is. I can barely get things straight on rectangular cars, getting them straight on a round boiler must be even worse.

Also since they cut track maintaince the trains had huge trouble making over the railroad by the end
