I honestly can't think of any movie trains.

The ones I remember are the Polar Express and the Fugitive one.

I would like the have the diesel Polar Express set Lionel put out though. Seems to be very nice. Also can't wait for the concept art to flood in!

The Orange Blossom Special in Florida was used in several movies. The remake of True Grit (blugh!) O Brother Where Art Thou? and 3:10 To Yuma. It's a wood burner engine so it fits in!

Strange this topic should come up now. I was watching BBC Television on Cable this weekend, and was watching Star Trek - Next Generation, and of all things, the Orient Express was in an episode! S7 E23 ( Season seven, Episode 23 ), it was called " Emergence ", the Enterprise is giving birth and making some kind of intelligent "thing", and the Holodeck gets tied into the Transporter system, anyway, members of the crew keep getting on the train at various points. Was Dr. Crusher's favorite Holo program. Just in case any of you hobbiests are into ST as well. :)

in the movie "The Last Detail" much of the movie takes place on a Penn Central passenger train.- Jack Nicholson is in this movie

The Movie "Midnight Run" Has scenes on an Amtrak and on the once mighty Santa Fe.
One scene was shot not far from where I live, the Amtrak station in Niles MI.
That station was originally built by the Michigan Central RR.
Robert DeNiro is in this movie

The train from the movie A League Of Their Own was filmed at the Illinois
Railway Museum in Union Illinois. The museum was also closed for a couple
days a while ago for filming the Transformers 4 movie.
Another movie is Fried Green Tomatoes has several scenes with a steam locamotive in it.

Tyco was big for making train set using TV and movie shows. Here is this thread "the buss" spoke of a few in his 9-12-2016 post. I liked the TYCO set Iron Horse, though Godzilla movies and the one where commuters on a train are zooming through a city on a raised electric line and all of a sudden Godzilla's head appears busting through the roadbed directly in front of their train is something I still remember.

A lot of model trains sacrificed in that scene. Or it appears to be so.

heres an interesting kids movie taking part partially in my home town of Durango Colorado
and the neigboring town of Ouray.

It's Fun to see all of the parts of the town in the movie like the roundhouse and the station, Escalante Middle School, and the mcdonalds. I found this movie when browsing at Louisa's movie house a few years ago.

I had missed seeing these nice movie locos from Srenchin. That is way cool!

This is a mini satire of a classic British film about the closing of surplus railways by Dr. Beeching in the '60's.

Some decent colorized scenes from the 1956 Godzilla.

Looks good. Has the train scene.

We have seen this movie before many times. This original version maybe for the first time.

The original Japanese version. Still has the train scenes. And the battle of the behemoths.

Never saw this movie but it has an unusual bedroom scene.

From the movie "Arthur" released in 1981.

Very disturbing scenes.

Even though it was for movie scenes it is a travesty to damage any model railroad equipment and scenery.

SCRX 3134 (GP40) has starred in several movies - Evasive Action, The Last Siege and The Fast and the Furious (the Vin Diesel/Paul Walker one, not the original 50s film; no idea if that one has a train in it).

Naturally, the 1974 film Murder on the Orient Express film has its entire plot featured around a train. Likewise, the Poirot TV series also has a few episodes featuring trains. 1930s British steam locos anyone?

Of course though, you can't mention British steam locos in film without 5972 in the Harry Potter series.

The "Texas Eagle" from the Nicolas Cage movie Ghost Rider. Fun fact, while it looks like a diesel, is actually a 1500V DC English Electric locomotive (L1169) built for the Victorian Railways in Australia. Parts of Ghost Rider was filmed in Melbourne (additionally, the footbridge that Ghost Rider drives his bike across connects to none other than Flinders Street Station).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorian_Railways_L_class

Nicolas Cage also came back to Melbourne where Knowing was filmed, which featured a scene in a Hitachi electric suburban train; a picture of the scene is even shown on the back of the DVD.

Speaking of Flinders Street Station, the Ghost Rider bike scene was filmed in almost the exact same spot where Jackie Chan accidentally fell in the Yarra River after failing a stunt during Mr. Nice Guy in 1997 (it's in the blooper reel at the end of the film). Only 200 yards east, closer to the Swanston Street bridge.

Prisoner (aka Prisoner: Cell Block H) TV series (1979-1986), despite being mostly filmed in a studio and being about female prisoners "on the inside", somehow manages to have the odd episode showing a suburban train. So far I've seen trains in episodes 187 (a wooden-bodied "Tait" train built circa 1910, which were originally loco-hauled cars but converted to electric traction (GE) from 1919 through to the 1940s), 342 (a Hitachi) and 489 (a Comeng, pronounced "com enj", short for Commonwealth Engineering). Episode 1 actually begins right outside Flinders Street Station (the front this time), although I can't remember if the platforms were filmed.

Probably the most unusual place to find a Melbourne train was in How I Met Your Mother S9E1. Stock footage of a Comeng suburban set entering a station was used and completely unedited, despite the show being set in New York.
