Found these pics online. It looks legit, but I haven't seen references to it anywhere.

Definitely a Marx chassis. I've never seen a UP body before. But has all the right cut-outs for mounting it to the chassis. Doesn't look cut up or modified. Interesting switcher for sure!

Custom paint...you can clearly see the decal lines and the silver is not painted with a stencil mask...

I was thinking that, but the number is more like a Marx number. Looking at the second pic, it almost looks like a blue one was painted.

I feel it is a good repaint. Done well and shows what can be done with one of these old Mark diesel switchers. Good post ! With the 33,000 number it is like a Gilbert number. Marx never had any kind of number series. Marx appeared at times to be using dates for numbers. 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962 all were Marx numbers. And the detailing with the paint on top the unit. Gray fan sets and exhaust stack cab roof. Marx just didn't do this detail painting. They did everything to keep the price low and easily affordable. They even put the color in the plastic to save painting. This is custom paint and a good work tho old and starting to chip and fade. frank
