Any idea if this CN version of the Piggyback set is rare? What would it be worth?
Thanks Todd

Actually, Tyco never produced the CN version of their piggybacks. Many trailers over the years has been painted and redecorated by their owners.... That set is one of those but tastefully done... ...

Thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated!! A fellow is selling it as part of an estate. Seems funny someone would paint it up and then put it back in the box.

I believe I'm correct by saying that all piggyback terminal sets come with Santa Fe trailers and the earlier set trailers were silver.
To see all the piggyback trailers that Tyco had to offer look at the thread titled "Tyco Piggyback Truck & Trailer Collection "....
In once had a Tyco Bubble Yum trailer pair in a box for the terminal and took a photo of it. Seems like I had other trailers in the box that was never offered by Tyco too. They're on the forum somewhere but I have no idea exactly where...

Well, I'd look it over to be sure. What's the end flap say? Is the lettering a decal or a screen?

It was for sale in another province. Luckily my sister lives not far from the seller. The price was cheap enough so my sister picked it up for me. She said it doesn't say anything special on the end flap so I'll have to wait until I visit her and pick it up to find out the deal on it. I have to admit the cab with the big CN looks awfully familiar-like I saw it when I was a kid. Could it be possible this was a Canada only item sold with a CN set?

Anything is possible, but I have searched ebay nightly from 1999 until 2014 and have never seen that truck or trailer label. It's not listed in any Tyco catalog, nor mentioned by anyone who has done extensive Tyco product line history. Being a Tyco Piggyback lover myself, from all of that I'm satisfied with the belief that I have 10 of every trailer offered by Tyco ...

Not really, when you consider that the box protects it.

Actually, the out of box photo, the white paint on the trailer looks a little odd, almost as if the color was brushed on...

I just emailed my brother-in-law and asked him to scrutinize the truck and trailers for signs of being painted.

The truck cab hasn't been painted, it's just a decal addition on it... If you enlarge the photos the trailer paint looks very uneven...

Yep. Brother-in-law confirmed it. Decals on the unpainted cab. Paint and decals on the trailers.

Here is another example of a home made pair of Tyco piggyback trailers. I have seen some nicely done trailers in the past.

That's not home-made. Those are Athearn trailers. And the price isn't bad for them.
