It seems to me that many European HO and OO producers of trains past and present have trains that can run together. The Marklin, or Fleischmann, or Jouef, or Peko, or any other producer of trains all make compatible couplers. Many of there products, passenger or freight, have cars that look good running together. The Lima's and Lilliput's, Rivarossi, Roco, all make trains compatible with each other. For whatever reason I thought they maintained differences that made this impossible. Now just like here my trains when I run these European types are mixed and run and look well together. Outside of AC and DC and 2 and 3 rail differences which must be kept separate, I who run DC, 2 rail have no problem with other DC, 2 rail products. When I find that interesting Marklin car I do know never to put it on a live track on my layout, and know the wheelsets must have proper insulated to prevent shorting out my power supply. frank

Your right The three rail cars do not have insulated wheels and will short out the Dc power pack.

Been running some European faves this weekend. This a flat load with nitrate fertilizer. I rather think they look like onion sacks. Electrotren of Spain.
Always love a tractor.
A French covered wagon by Joeuf. Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français. This piece is light as a feather, but it has never derailed! Never uncouples, by accident!
Got crystal?
Ambulance Chaser's Dream!
Italian State Railways. Rome's answer to the GG1!
I think this is Swiss National Railways, could be wrong.

This was original attempt, with this sound track from Leone's "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." That brilliant film was part of what was called, colloquially, "The Spaghetti Westerns" because they were filmed in Leones's native Italy. (You will notice in the opening scene of GBU that the passenger train is of Italian make and model, nothing at all like the 19th American train it was trying to portray, on a low budget Director Leone was hoping American audiences would not notice or care. In fact, we don't, as the film is a brilliant masterpiece, though its underlying theme was anti-war, in general, against the backdrop of the Vietnam War). As the lead locomotives are of the Italian State Railway, I thought it would be cute to have it as sound track to Elbonian Reminisces, Why Italian locomotives on a British themed layout? Because I like them.

This ISR and these SNFC coaches reminded me strong of Soviet equipment when I visited there as a lad of 4 years old. Made a strong impression on me, overall. The place is grim now, was even more grim during the Cold War.
