Oddly, this is also from the green paint guys estate, but no green paint. It's powered by a 44-ton switcher(2-motor) truck. This little cutie can pull four MDC Harriman cars plus a tank car! Evan

Looks like a tidy job of scratch building.

That actually looks more realistic than any of those switchers Tyco made back in their "golden age".Very nice.

I guess someone was too cheap to buy the Grandt Line kit and built his own 25-tonner. That's really quite something impressive there! I'm jealous! You can tell those handrails came right off a Plymouth switcher like the one in the background, and I see the green paint guy (apparently a TH&B fan like me!) got his hands all over that too.

That is a really cool scratchbuild, but I must have missed something. I take it this green paint guy was the original owner?

Thats right, Nelson. The previous owner Don, developed a thing for adorning his locos and cars with green gold and silver paint. Green mostly on the cab roofs, green gold + silver on the trucks. He must have missed this one. Most of my recent posts featured his stuff. Evan

Well, to be fair, he isn't alone... when I was 9 or 10 or so I had quite the habit of "detailing" and "weathering" things with black and silver sharpies. Things like steps, ALL grab irons, and mu cables got painted silver, radiator fans black, etc. One Tyco Virginian hopper got huge black streaks that looked more like oil spills than coal dust, for example. I still have it and I'm totally at a loss what to do with it, so it sits in a box.
Still undoing the damage to this day, bit by bit, with rubbing alcohol and foam eraser pads (which work wonders on Sharpie, if anyone has that problem besides me...) Current me hates elementary-school me.

We've all been there, Connor. I once put heavy (like Exxon Valdez oil spill heavy) Testors gloss black dripping from the dome on a Dupont tank car.

Back in my teens I brush-painted a Tyco Union 76 single dome tanker gloss black because all the tank cars I saw on the tracks near my house were black...it wasn't even the right kind of tank car. I still have it, and it ain't pretty!
