Thought I'd pass along my opinion on this item I just bought, it's a CD of Tyco catalogs from 1958 to 1986. Considering you'd spend about 5 bucks apiece buying them, I thought the $10 price for this CD to be an exceptional value.

It didn't disappoint, either. I randomly viewed different year catalogs, and all (so far) are scanned from clean catalogs, the pictures in the PDF file are crisp and clear, and can zoom in as well. There are many catalogs that seem to never show up for sale, while others are common as a Tyco hopper. I'll have fun exploring all the different catalogs.

Here's a link to the Seller on Ebay if you are interested. Like I said, for the price, it's hard to beat that many catalogs scanned for $10, considering what a real one sells for on Ebay.

Infocap is the seller. I am very pleased with his work, and recommend it to anyone wanting multiple catalogs that Tyco produced. While it's not a great hold-it-in-your-hands item, it is a wonderful resource condensed to electronic form. I give it 5 stars so far, I've only looked at 4-5 catalogs completely, but the quality is worth the price.

Sounds like a great item, Jerry.. I had seen the CDs on ebay for quite a while. I have a few of the catalogs from the era that I had my first layout...

It is nice! I contributed 3 or 4 catalogs out of my stash to him, so he could complete his collection and update the CD.

Jerry,
Would it be possible to print images from the CD? For instance, if there was a certain vintage catalog image and I wanted to print it and put it in my hard copy files for reference. Can the image be color printed?

Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

If you're running Windows you can do a screen print and paste it into any imaging app and print from there.

Nice to know. This site has 50's catalogs and Tony Cook's and/or HO Seeker sites are pretty complete with 60's and up. Don't forget to contribute if you can!
