Got up around 4 AM, a bit later than my alarm, but got dressed and made it out the door by 4:30. Not too late a start. I got to the parking area close to Gate 1 with plenty of spaces left.

Anyway, plenty of slot cars available, but most were not in my budget for this trip. This first vendor had THREE cases of nothing but slot cars. Nothing under $20. Didn't see anything I wanted there. But a GREAT selection!

Into the afternoon, I found another guy with model train stuff, and a small plat of slot cars. I immediately spotted the Aurora AMX, super shape. $25, so I got it. Body is mint/pristine shape. Also bought some train stuff from him, will post that elsewhere.

After a trip back to the car, and some rest, I made one final foray onto the fairgrounds, and hit the back area. My last couple of dollars were spent at one vendor on an Aurora HO slot track train crossing, $15 with box. These are extremely rare, and that's a cheap price compared to what they sell on Ebay. So, I got it, too. Then, when walking away, I spotted some 1/25 slot cars on another table, and one was what looked like a Jo-han AMX body. I looked it over, wasn't totally trashed, but I suspected he would want more than what I had in my wallet by then ( like, $3 ). So, I took a few pictures, and headed out to my car, as I was totally whipped by then at 3:15 PM.

I finally staggered up to my car at 3:40, boy, I SURE am gettin' OLD. Was glad to finally be off my feet for a good while, I drank some water, eyeballed my last purchases, then finally started the drive home around 4 PM. I good day, overcast so not hot, breezy some, some spits of rain every now and then, but nothing to ruin the day. And I didn't even buy a SINGLE car part there all day! I did buy some 49-70 tune-up literature for Nash, Chrysler, and AMC cars, but that was the extent of my full-size car related items. Pretty much just trains ( O-27 Marx, HO, and an N Atlas Seaboard diesel ). Very satisfying day.
