I Miss My Trains: A Poem of Woe!
Here I sit very down-hearted. My retired life carefully charted. Trains packed and now departed. My estate agent is too light-hearted. She needs quicker to get started. My old place is empty and so distorted. My layout plans are too long thwarted. I long for the hour I too am transported. Here I sit so damn broken-hearted.

Wouldn't the output of that logic circuit always be 1? If memory serves, I read it as ((A and B) or (A nand B)). That could be the Boolean logo of a yes man.

Don, I have been using that logic circuit in my emails for over a year. I run among programmers and engineers. You are the first to note that the output of that circuit is constant regardless of the inputs. I commend your observation skills.
I had missed the output logic as being that of a yes man. I will change the AND gate to a NAND gate. That will better reflect my cynical nature.

Don, you have your symbols backwards. It says (A or B) and (A nor B), which is always zero. So John, it reflects your cynical nature already!

Definition by Jerry's logic :
Collector - a discerning individual who carefully picks what they are interested in and focuses on building that interest logically. Can be known as a "rivet counter"
Pack Rat - a person who often keeps things that "might" be useful down the road, and doesn't necessarily follow a pattern of collecting, but will keep things to trade off or sell later to further their interests. Not always well organized, but can have distinctive collecting patterns.
Hoarder - someone who keeps literally everything, including trash, and steadfastly refuses to part with any of it, at any price, for any reason.
Unfortunately, Pack Rats get a bad rap, many people who save NOTHING are convinced that PR's are really Hoarders. Not true. While having a lot of stuff and lack of space looks bad ( guilty here ), I tend to save "things" that may have some use later, but others may not see that. I have literally run out of space, and am currently trying to downsize and reorganize so that I do have less, and will part with trains <gasp!> that I am not interested in collecting but were accumulated as lot purchases. But it takes time, and effort. And I'm trying to sort through and delete items I've had too long that I haven't used. It's a slow process. Aging and slowing down have caused me to run out of energy in the evenings, and I don't get as much done as I would like to. But, I am making the effort. My house will never be a showcase home, I'd need a 20K sq ft warehouse to live in for that. LOL. But I will be trying to get rid of items, like my Sci-Fi books, and other items, I know I will never re-read or use. Paradigm shifts can take awhile. Anyway, that's my definition of those labels, and I still say I'm a Pack Rat.

Pretty good definitions, Jerry!
That aging and slowing part is getting me too. I have found that even though I'm not a hoarder, there's certain things it's hard to let go of. The moving process we are in does provide some incentive though.

I guess I qualify as a pack rat until I get around to getting rid of the stuff I have intended as trade bait. I have a Lionel Freedom train in box I need to get rid of as I prefer the Bachmann, several Manuta steam engine kits as I don't model steam much and have a NIB Royal Blue, some duplicate rolling stock, an "O" scale Disney World Town Square set, that sort of thing. The man-cave is just too full, so as soon as I get that cleaned up this winter and get RID of a bunch of crap I ought to be okay. I have specific discerning collecting patterns and now don't buy much, just looking to get my 3' track and DCC layout implemented.

Ugh. Home buying and selling is horrible. Good luck. I bought my last home three years ago, and finally sold my last one nearly a year ago. I will never move again. This house is like Charlton Heston's guns..."from my cold dead hands!"

Went to a tag sale on Saturday advertising HO trains got there along with four others and this what was for sale
brief search through box asked others if interested they were not
SO for decent amount of dollars got a small coffin sized box of Ho that had not seen the light of day since 1981 according to newspapers
more pics to come took a whole day to catalog
