I love the Looney Tunes set! The farm house is the Hotel version of the same basic house. Those molds have been passed through a lot of firms over the years. I believe I saw Lionel having them in their HO line currently. I have the two next to each other on my layout, the hotel version replacing the office for the Atlas lumber yard. Great haul!

Ben This loony toon set came boxed as it is with no place for another car. It would (could) not fit in the box.

Cute set Frank. Not as memorable as The Broadway Limited but still sentimental to railfans.

I did check out avinathan store. Quite a nice variety of Tyco and other things you don't see
everday, and the starting bids were all quite reasonable. Walt, you might want to check him out, he's
got some cool carded street lights, and there was someone who was collecting Tyco Bicentennial coaches...
cannot think of the name of top of my head...as to those nice, and hard to find, CN coaches I'm good!
A while back I was desiring of them, and not being able to locate any, painted up my own with
satisfactory results. Already those two CN coaches have the start of a bidding war...

Finds from the New York Society of Model Engineers train show today 4-10-21 Carlstadt NJ.
Two vintage steam locomotives from the collection of a long-time club member who passed away. These two are both old Varney steamers with 8 wheel drive. One is a consolidation,(2-8-0) and the other a Berkshire (2-8-4). Both are old diecast metal models dating back to after WW2, and before the 1050s. I was told his name is George Mains a member who may have remembered the club when it was in Manhattan, then Hoboken in the DL&W ferry terminal’s second-floor concourse. His private road name, “Baukee and Mynute” Still graces the tender sides of both locomotives. There was still at show’s closing a Pennline Decapod and Mikado awaiting new caretakers of the B&MRR. For me I don’t really consider it mine, tho paid for, for I am just borrowing them from George and promises to care for them and pass them on.
Next are some HO train cars, four 36’ reefers. The first an old wood with paper side model finished in “Old Dutch Cleanser # 293”, and 3 Accurail 36’ reefers. All four were custom finished by Richard Brower, Another modeler who chose to use rub-on artwork. All four cars are flawless in finish. Old Dutch Cleanser #2953, Produce Cold Storage #PKSX 7201, Peerless Beer, NX 3061, last the IGA Sores URTCo. 18803. After these are two other cars also done by Richard. The first a Red Ball BORDEN’s Milk tanker in it upside-down bathtub styling laid on a flat car, BFIX 534, and Red Ball Overland Oil Transporting car #101.
The last car is a True Scale plastic work car, I say plastic because when first released these work cars were constructed in wood and paper. Engineering car MW 533 in brown paint.

Varney 2-8-0

Varney 2-8-4

unknown Old Dutch Cleanser.

Accurail IGA

Accurail Producers Cold Storage

Accurail Peerless Beer

Red Ball Border's Milk

Red Ball Overland Oil.

Golden Nugget Flea Market finds today.
Roaming around the inside booths today I found a Globe 2 dome all-metal tank car. GATX 4530. It has a different recording number from the one I have already. Also an Athearn old metal line Western Pacific Feather service boxcar, WP 20805. a Varney open hopper car MONON CIL4201, with a coal load. There is also a Tyco Atlantic Coast Line streamlined passenger set F7A&B, combine, coach, and observation car. I call it TYCO's Girl's passenger set because of the Pink used on the cars. I think I have seen ACL F7's that are pinker than the ones with the set.
frank

Why Do I think I have this car already but the lettering on it is black.

Tyco F7 A&B. in ACL colors which I think should have matching pink paint.

Nice items Frank. Sounds like you were at Atlantic City. Golden Nugget sounds like a casino in Atlantic City or Las Vegas.
I don't think you would travel that far west so I would think Atlantic City.

Well I got a Baby Ruth tank car kit online today. I sat right down and lettered the car for CONOCO to have a silver tank car in CONOCO. Still looking for a HObbyline red Mobil gas tank kit to do also as a CONOCO tank. On both the yellow one I've done and this new silver tank car I have used original trucks with brass wheels and HObbyline couplers. I will do the red one the same way. Because of only one recording number both share the same number.

Here are the two cars together.

Nice work, Frank!

Today I went to Henning's Trains and came home with a huge haul! All of the cars pictured were $2 or $1 each, and I found some pretty awesome locos at unbeatable prices. Most notably, a Tyco Santa Fe rare Rivarossi-like drive C630 needing some work, Tyco D&H C630, Tyco "Crescent Limited" 4-6-2, and a "Premier Production" Rivarossi B&O 2-10-2, needing some work. Can't wait to starting working on it.

If you picked up those C&H hops for $2 a go, then you committed
unarmed robbery. Those are really, really dang nice. I see a number
of really desirable locomotives in that batch, and must say you
really knocked the ball out of the park.

As I say to Ben, why thank you, Robert, for being so kind as to share
your lovely additions with the class. And may I just say:

Cool busss! Good luck.

Chops, thanks. Yes, I agree the C&H hopper prices blew my mind, along with the locomotive prices. And to think Hennings Trains has been 15-20 minutes away from me, forever. And lol

Nice items added to your collection Frank. I never got a chance to get to The Golden Nugget in Lambertville.

I did get to Ballys in Atlantic City last Monday. No gambling for me.

No model trains either but I saw the prototypes in action.
I am heading back there later today to check out the action.
A nearby antique store has some model train items. We will see.

Nice haul, toptrain. I had planned on going to the Cow Palace on Saturday, but got called into work at the last minute. Maybe we can synch up at the next show.

Good eye, Walt. That Bubble Yum truck usually goes for more $$$. Seller included S&H too.

A pink Tyco passenger girl's set? I thought I saw that,
and the then the cursor flew out of control and I
cannot find that post! Think it was of several
passenger rakes on Frank's layout. Could you
post that, as SOTW, perhaps? I never heard
of this before!!

Uh, Walt, didn't you say you'd done all the Tyco collecting you're going to do?
Slip sliding away...then again, I am the kettle calling the pot black. I am
hungering for a few Australian Tyco pieces. Wish me luck, I will need it.

Shortly after posting this, I found a NSW F unit on Australian Gum Tree, but
the shell was badly melted on one side, and it had a PT motor.

11-6-21 Carlstadt train show. Opps! I forgot to mention who had the tables next to me. My neighbor for the show was a member here, Brainstyco. Yep I wasn't alone. We talked a little. He like me wanders around alot looking for that special train. With METCA sharing the show with the New York Society train club, Brain had alot of trains to look at. We actually got to talk some when we bumped into each other at our tables. It was a nice day even though we both were busy.

Here is my list of trains I got at this show.

1 Mantua Brass Old Time combine. Can anyone identify these two unknown passenger cars?
2 Mantua Brass Old Time coach
3 Unknown Old Time coach
4 unknown Old Time pay car
5 IHC 2-6-0C Canadian National camelback.
6 Red ball, 1850-60’s 2 door Old time Reefer Colorado Midland #1203
7 HTCX 1739 Tank Car 6,000 gal, Walters
8 SRDX 55 DX-Sunray oil tank car 10,000 gal, Thomas Trains. The company that made the 6 dome wine cars.
9-10-11 MDC old time shorty Passenger cars 1 combine, 2 coaches, seen with a baggage of mine
13 UTLX 77976 Hudson Oil and Gas X-TYCO tank car came out 4 0r 5 years after Tyco stopped making trains. I think I got about 6 different ones now.
