The issue is some code that's been affected by updates to the server over the past year. It's not anybody's posts in particular and it's not an issue with photos.
Follow me here...
First, this is only happening on posts that have both a hyperlink to an external site AND images in that same post.
I have a utility I run that can scan the entire forum. The purpose is to find those photos that are still hosted outside this forum. When it finds one it grabs it from the internet and copies it to your images folder. It rewrites the img code to display the now local photo in your post. Basically you end up with the exact same post, exact same photos, but now those photos are on this server. To be preserved forever. This is a photo intensive forum as you all know and the integrity of the forums lacks severely when images disappear from inkfrog, ebay, your closed down website, etc. etc.
NOW, a bug has emerged. I'm consulting with others to figure this out. IF and ONLY IF a post contains not only photos but a link to an external site AND photos I've already grabbed (a second run on the post) it blows out the img tags. It's also particular about how the link to the external page is written. It doesn't matter though, it's broken.
Here's the good news. All of the posts which are affected are those that have had the photos brought to this server. They all live on. My plan is to fix the code and then have everyone hit the alert moderator on posts that contain these broken lines of code. I'll fix them over time. Anyone who wants to fix their own, that would be great. I will not run my utility on forums other than this testing forum until the issue is resolved.
You would simply highlight the line and then hit the insert image button  to wrap that line in the tags.
If you look at my troubleshooting attempts it might aid in your understanding. It's not important everyone understand it though, I'm on it!!!
