I am looking for the athearn stanchions #10425. I have found #10426. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two. They are both the long ones and I need them for a GP35. Any help is appreciated.

Per Athearn's website, via Google search, 10426 is longer still for the Trainmaster.

My guess why they still exist is simply because there's old stock left, the TM hasn't been run in a long time so the demand for the handrails is less.

Now if you get desperate and have one of the 10425 to compare to, you could take the 10426, flatten the bend out of it, bend it again to the same height as the 10425, then cut off the excess.

Or call Athearn and see if you can order some. They usually get $6.95 for a package of stanchions. Different engines use different stanchion heights.

My info came right off the Athearn website. Only the long ones for the TM exist at this point, Horizon's done away with all that stuff.

Call Athearn and talk to Raul. 310-763-7140 x122. He is the parts guy.
He will go look and see what they have left. Sometime they have parts in smaller quantities and don't advaertise it. Sometimes both websites are not up to date.

I bought the #10425 off of ebay. I emailed the guy and he said he had the wrong picture on the listing and assured me that they were #10425. They should be in tomorrow. We shall see.

Here is the parts sheet. The sheet does not show the length but I need 9 of the side stanchions - #10425 and the two end hand railings. Let me see what the guy sends me tomorrow. But the two end hand railings I do need. Also if I could ask you, I had to change two cracked wheels on my tyco gp20. I gently pried the side frames off, put the new wheels on and gauged them and need to glue the side frames back on but do not know what to use to hold them in place while the CA dries. Any help on that is appreciated. Thanks Frank
