While at my PT train shop job yesterday, I got to see this interesting HO steam engine put out by the Franklin Mint. I didn't know they sold operating engines! Pretty nice, had sat in a garage on display, was a bit dirty and ran erratically. I cleaned off the dirty driver wheels, and opened up the bottom - no grease to speak of in the axle boxes. Ugh. A bit of white lithium grease on all axles, and I closed it up and tried it out again. Ran much smoother now, and quieter. Very high quality engine, detailing was fine, I'll have to research these more. Who or what is FMPM ? Franklin Mint ? ? Wonder who made the trains for them. I guess some googling will tell. Thought I'd share this model with the group, anyone else have a FM HO engine?

hi jerry! Nice looking loco. A few have been posted here over the years. Ahm and IHC made matching passenger cars for the Southern Cresent. The one I had ran good.
