IIRC an early Horizon offering was some fantasy schemes on the C44-9W. Not that Irv's Athearn didn't have plenty of it's own fantasy stuff (a NYC SDP40 for instance), but I'm pretty sure those post-date the sale of the company.

Athearn has released a variety of "fantasy" schemes in recent years. AC4400CW units and GP60M are among the most notable. As Lv stated tho - not nearly as many as they did under Irv Athearn's leadership and thats not including special run items.

This is not a factory job, but I thought you might get a kick out my DD-40 that I did in a fallen flag Mopac Jenks blue scheme. I did it out of spite because of the merger, I was a big fan of Mopac.

This is a fallen flag color scheme for the short lived Gateway Western. It does double duty in that the GWWR revived the paint scheme of the old Nickel Plate Road freight diesels.
