I searched it and apparently it was made in 1978. (The original) Not the 1950's like I thought since the title is absolutely outrageous. I'm still shocked that such a thing actually exists.Looking at photos of it, the movie looks about as outrageous as the title itself. Why does this have a cult following? It's just a cheesy 1970's horror(?) movie that was meant to be forgotten. Whatever the case, yes, it would make an interesting Tyco train set indeed.

Eh, pieces have been done, apparently...I took this pic at my club's layout a few weeks ago. Not sure where it came from, or who made it, though.

Theyve been making these sorts of sets with the exact same locos and rolling stock, just with different paint schemes, for years. I don't know when they started, though, but these types of sets were made by many different manufacturers over the last few decades.

The B L O B with Steven McQueen. I think it was his first staring role in a movie. He was billed as Steven McQueen.

If you can find a Life Like train set mountain and paint it gloss black, it will make a perfect stand in for the creature.

Regards, John

About a stone’s — throw west of Mesquite, Texas, a man is sitting in a saloon, enjoying bar snacks and beer. Suddenly President Obama appears on the TV. The man says in no uncertain terms, "Barack Obama is a horse’s @ss.” Out of nowhere, a local guy jumps-up, punches him in the kisser hard enough to knock him off the stool and angrily stomps out the door.

When he climbs back on the stool, he asks the bartender, “I take it this must be Obama country.”

“Nope,” replies the bartender, “…horse country.”

Steven McQueen royally screwed up when he said he didn't want a percentage of the box office sales
He only wanted $4,000 to pay off rent & food
The Blob was a hit at $4 million dollars!
Has been remade several times & where it was filmed the town has a annual Blob Fest

They are still making new Star Trek cars to this day the releases are in the thirty's now.

I would have bought a road and rail Dukes OF Hazzard, Smokey and the Bandit, Convoy, or even a Cannonball Run set. Heck they even jump a truck over a train in the move.

Maybe Space balls the Train " Lonestar I see your train is as big as mine"
