How lucky! Here in Florida, no steam locomotives, but, steam traction/tractors!

Ben, You make me SICK!
The biggest steamer in my area is about the size of a carnival train that gives out rides to those around the area for $4.00 a ride.....not to shabby for a LPG powered 4-4-0!
Altho, in my home area of Pennsylvania, has the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, that has a 2-8-0, "Mountain Thunder" Western Maryland #734...Which I've tracked through the area, AND rode behind on its trip from Cumberland, MD. To Frostburg, MD.......

Well I'll make you sicker, EM-1 I've been in the shop where this loco, #3985 & the parts loco for #844 is kept & Cheyenne is 100 miles SW of my house hehe
Stopped in Gering,Nebraska Stayed overnight & left the next morning I HEARD the whistle 3-4 miles away when it left after 6am! The smoke in the back is from a fire that is happening up north

That's really neat Busss. I was excited today when I saw a steamer in MD as I drove through but this is spectacular! Nice red hat you have BTW! :)

Lucky you, Ben. She is really beautiful. It looks really humid in that second set of photos.
I'm glad I got the mileage I did with C&O 614 before she was mothballed; now she's down in VA. It would be nice to see it and 844 double-heading. 614 has all roller bearings, so it doesn't need constant greasing 844 does, btw.

I've been hearing that the greenbrier express involving 614 has been cancled... I wonder if this is true.

Hyde, That would stink if it is cancelled! I hope not I'd like to see or hear about the 614 running again under her own steam!

Thought i heard that right. It was a bad plan from the start, why they chose that portion of the U.S that just happened to be CSX territory aka "No Steam" is beyond me. I hope Ross will move #614 some place else.

Last I heard the Greenbrier Express was still on, but 614 was simply to be a static attraction for it. Were there ever plans to have her pull the train?
I guess the express has been canceled since, which doesn't surprise me.
I'm just glad I got a runby cab ride in her back in '97.

Nelson the intent was to have 3 steam locomotives pull the train after the first few diesel runs. The other 2 steamers were to come from other places. They were to run while 614 was being restored. From my understanding the whole plan is cancled all together,

I have to give that whole debacle one big !
The 844 episode was the best of that series, aside from the dopey host's unnecessary sarcasm about those older railfans.
