Hi people,
I just bought this locomotive... I know only that it's undecorated and not much more.
It does not appear to have been run much.
I do not know what railroads had these, nor do I know what it's true value is. 
I saw one of the newer models/kits on Ebay for at least $100... but that was for the 2-8-0 camelbacks.
Please fill me in on what you know about this locomotive, before I tell you how much I paid for it.

Clearly built up from a Mantua kit, otherwise I got nuthin'. Looks sharp, tho.

There's a Reading version on eBay right now that's up to $52. I don't know if it's a good deal or not... Frank probably knows the going rate.

Well I paid $60 for my 2-8-2 camelback, some friends on here said that was a good deal. I believe the 4-6-2 version is rarer. Urs looks to be a former kit i love it

That's just wonderful! I had just bought, last week, an oddball wide-vision caboose which is decaled for the Lehigh Valley Railroad, oddball because I didn't have anything else representing it's purpose, and that the LHS dealer doesn't like U.S. roads. He always reduces the price against the same quality Canadian marked rollingstock!

John ; The Pacific Camelback, Lehigh Valley is the only company that had them. The Valley call them the K1 class as they were there first pacific type. They were used on the Black Diamond Express. Original numbers were 2000 series up to 2008. The numbers were changed by the valley when they aquired more pacifics. All there other ones were standard rear cab types. They needed more numbers so were renumbered to the 2300 series. So # 2003 became 2303. It is easy to find photos but hard to get a drawing. I think the Model Railroader ot Feb 1979 had a good drawing. I have 2 of the models, but only 1 is detailed nicely.
* And yes they are Mantua so they run great.

hey I just noticed something!
In the prototype photo the 2 wheels at the rear end of the loco are bigger than the HO model! 
Or am I crazy?
