Hi Frank. I visited the site four days later during my trek from Boonton to Denville New Jersey.

Nice collection they have over there.

That's some pretty neat railroad history there, wks. Looks like it was a lot of fun there.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

Toptrain, I think you missed the humor mixed with awe in my post.
In future I'll work on my phrasing.

Evan

Please let me expand on the above.
In my world, there would be ZERO GG-1's available. These preservationists have not one, but TWO.
Hence the WOW in my original post.
If Frank or anyone else misunderstood the spirit of my comment and was offended, that was not my intent.
Sometimes , sarcasm or humor is difficult to get across in typed words, even with emojis.
The last thing I would do would be to belittle the efforts of those that volunteer their time and money to save
these treasures.
In future, I'll measure my words with more care, to avoid any confusion as to their meaning.

Goodness. I'm almost afraid to ask what I missed in the couple of posts above...

Anyways. Microben: NO! Jade green is not for locomotives and I will never convince my brain it is okay to put jade green on a locomotive!

Some nice videos of their events a few years ago. Not my videos.

I will try to visit the site soon even though it is currently closed.

NICE! This place is on my list of places to eventually visit, along with Northlandz.
