OK I am stumped, and at the point where I can't see a solution.
I'm trying to remove the metal chassis from a Mantua aluminum passenger car body to repair the paper window inserts that have come loose, as well as one of the light bulbs. I have unscrewed the chassis from the plastic end caps and now the chassis will slide front to rear....but the trucks prevent it from sliding out.
The trucks themselves are riveted in to the chassis. Thinking maybe remove the truck sideframes? But don't see a way to do that except to pry off - and I'm afraid I will break something.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

Jerry,
Carefully drill out the rivets. By hand if possible. Be sure and count them first OK?

I kinda walked into that one too! But I don't have the passenger car in front of me so I thought maybe I was missing something about how it is constructed. Well that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

John, I laughed on and off the rest of the night about that, then shared it with my wife - who needless to say loved it too, although I had to explain "rivet counting" to her first

I too, got a kick out of John's "rivet counting" remarks. Knowing him from reading his posts I already knew there was never any malice in his posting.

Thank God for this friendly and kind forum.
