My LOTW this week just so happens to be a Bachmann Thomas The Tank Engine model that I got about 5 years ago I believe. Don't worry, I won't do the Thomas stuff for too long, I'll switch between Thomas and prototypical over time.

Quick on the trig this week, are we? LOL. Ok, this morning I'll post my engine, a Bachmann ( I believe ) Walter Disney steam engine. Forgot when I bought this, just found it last night, I think it's missing the front pilot truck. Said runs but doesn't move on the note I got with it. Well, I'll look at it one day. I think it's supposed to be a 2-6-0, but I could be mistaken. Anyone know?

I found the set for it and here's a photo for it so you don't have to find it and yes, it's a 4-6-0.

Blue locomotives. Popped off a Santa Fe shell and popped on this popping
blue Conrail shell. Guess I'm improving. First Penn Central, now Conrail.
I doubt I will succumb to either Norfolk Southern nor Guilford Lines. Or
worse, Pan American Rail. Rather go to the dentist, first.

Jerry,
I like the L&N ALCOs.

My LOTW is a set of ALCO RS units, A MDC RS3 powered & an AHM Dummy RS2. These were my first try at custom painted Locomotives.

PRR - the answer is yes and no

The A unit (#369) has a one-off experimental scheme L&N tried, with the red lettering over gray. The nose herald is 3 red diamonds. It did come with the set for the solid dark blue (passenger) and solid black (freight) L&N diesels.
I just finished another pair of Alcos with the solid black scheme I'll post in the next LOTW. BTW the other experimental scheme was on #366 - it was solid black with gold letters (like your photo) but had the 3-diamond nose herald as well. Here is a set of F7s with the conventional round nose herald:

Here are those two experimental "3-diamond" nose heralds on the L&N Alcos. I've tried to find photos of the prototypes but no luck so far - but since Microscale went to the trouble of including them on their decal sheets I figure they were out there somewhere at some point in time. I like the dark loco best with it - the red letters on grey are someting I like one day and not the next. I came close to stripping it off once, came back to it a few days later and thought 'what was I thinking? I love it." So I guess that's why they never went with it

I really like that loco Ken! Pretty darn cool stuff!

I just purchased a book on early New Haven steam locomotives and discovered they had and had merged with many smaller railroads which had a bunch of 4-4-0 general type steam locomotives like these. I think I plan to use the ones I have and after researching the paint colors, restore a bunch to match these actual locomotives.

Thanks for the comment Ray, though I felt it was an inept hack job.
I covered everything with masking tape and used the biggest metal file I had.
It took hours to twaek the edges to conform to the inside of the shell.
If you know this model, it's the one without the front and rear cab windows.
Not sure I have the skill to cut them out. I've scribed the outlines, but thats it.
Any useful advice?

Cutting those windows out would be a tedious job. Maybe "faking" the windows with decals or paint might work.

I don't know of any articles showing the procedure (I may have to write one).
Using Future floor acrylic coating is a trick used by aircraft and car modelers to install canopies and windshields without the crazing caused by plastic glues.
Carefully measuring the window openings, cutting and fitting the clear plastic is the hard part. The Future floor acrylic coating is applied with a small brush around the edges once you have the window in place.
