My car this week is a Prince Albert Smoking Tobacco Boxcar. It does not have the maker stamped on but it has screw in truck like an atheran. Not sure who make it.

Nice car tramp - reminds me of the old joke we wore out as kids: "You have Prince Albert in a can? Well let him out!"
My COTW is a B&O/REA box car I found at an antiques store. Not sure the manufacturer - Roundhouse?

Tyco Sound Car. Not certain of vintage, but think it dates to 1970's. Uses 9 volt battery and wheels of one truck turn a set of gears and a cam. Link shows it in operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV0yDDz5bZs

not sure who the maker is, but this one said "buy me" when I saw it at a hobby shop that specializes in used trains.

I was on the slope for many years Stephen but I've reached the bottom now... I had to convince myself that I was done buying train cars. Even with my fairly large layout, I might have "too many"!

NICE! That is a Cox model, or at least I assume so. They had one in Big Pine Lumber livery (Fire Car X-07)

You are basically correct. AHM produced these from Cox molds as part of their Firefox Fire Fighting set, which also included an airplane launcher. The airplane can be hard to find as they usually got separated from the set.

Its actually it was "converted" from a tender from a brass Kosmos Timber Company's #11 2-6-6-2 steam locomotive..

Ahhh..OK, you know I kind of suspected that - it seems like almost every older model has been redone by another company using the old molds. Thanks for the info!

Train-miniature 40' Double-Sheathed boxcar. These came in about a million paint schemes and I hardly ever see the same one twice.

Yup, Roundhouse - you can tell by the stirrup steps, they're molded into the frame instead of the shell on later roundhouse boxcars like this one.
