all Burlington locos except the Santa Fe are dummies the funky homemade crossings don't count since they were from another sale & were $1
who was it that wanted a Mantua/RB Tyco MOW train? Theres a gondola in tha pile for you hehe
Oh I KNOW someone will go "GIMMIE!!" on the Burlingtons

Hey Buss ! A very good find. The 2 Burlington diesels with cabooses make for good reliable power when you find other ones with drives. The red and gray paint is good looking to. Those old 1850- 1860 coaches can get re-trucked. with vestibule railings, and give a good representation of that times cars. There are a lot of S gauge collectors out there so the American Flyer loco and car can be used by someone. * That was some good train hunting you have done. frank

I can see why they keep losing the top. Because it's so dang easy to take it off in the first place!

Hi microbusss,
That is an awesome sale find for sure!
I love the blue gondola and black tender.
I have the sugar car in it's box, but it does not have the text next to the steps on the right.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm a little late on this, but...what an awesome find! I'm seriously jealous. I've been away from garage sales for a while, and I miss finding things like that. The Burlington and SF equipment would have fit right into my old layout. I've got a powered version of that GP9, but the previous owner got super glue fingerprints on it. The Athearn GP9 is one of my favorites. I'd buy it just for the railings.
BTW....still plotting my return. I took the kids to a model railroad exhibit the other day, and the oldest practically begged to get our trains back out! I thought she'd forgotten them. The little one watched the trains forever and talked about it all day. I've got to get back into the game.

I find nothing like that at my Virginia garage sales. The one that DID advertise trains, had up-scale Lionel, and wanted big bucks for them (last year ), so I passed. I get more deals now through my Train shop job than I ever got at shows, so I really don't cry over not finding anything outdoors, or even at the shows I don't attend much anymore. I get some mighty good pickin's off the boss's lots he buys from people. But good for you, Ben, some nice stuff there.

I found a kit for it, Microbusss! Here's the link. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/HO-Scale-Walthers-vintage-KIT-Peanut-One-Tongue-in-Cheek-Novelty-train-/400601693724Unfortunately though, the bidding ended on it and it sold for $67.13 with combined shipping and handling.

I couldn't get the picture for some bizarre reason. You see, when I found it, the photo was extremely tiny but I could still make out what it was so I posted the link to this thread.
