1961 Civil War Centennial Train Sets

TYCO's Blue and Gray Civil War Centennial Sets are well-known and popular appearing in the 1961 and 1962-63 catalogs.  TYCO provided the sets the back cover of the '61 product catalog.  Included was the following describing the sets, "The year's most exciting and timely sets...commemorating the Centennial of the War between the States.  Authentic in every detail and packed in special full color gift box.  Special fly leaves give interesting commentary on the role that railroading played in both sides of the conflict as well as reproductions of actual photographs.

Beyond the Civil War Cannons and the Union and Confederate Flags with Staffs, TYCO utilized selections from the existing 1860-series line to create both sets.
